GroundControl, which provides mission-critical software for highly regulated manufacturing industries, today announced it has achieved FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency for its platform, following an independent assessment by Ignyte Assurance Platform, a FedRAMP-recognized Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO).

The assessment validated that GroundControl meets 100% of the FedRAMP Moderate security control baseline, with zero findings — a high bar that few manufacturing software providers can claim.

FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency is the Department of Defense's recognized pathway for cloud services used to store, process, or transmit Covered Defense Information under DFARS 252.204-7012. It is distinct from FedRAMP Authorization. For aerospace and defense suppliers pursuing CMMC, it means they can run quality workflows — including first article inspection and related compliance processes — on a cloud platform aligned to the same security standard the government expects for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

“From day 1 we designed our system to be ready to meet the strictest compliance requirements, knowing security and compliance in our market is a moat worth building. By achieving FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency, we proved what we've been doing all along meets the bar being set in the DIB,” said Matthew Noseworthy, CTO, GroundControl. “Achieving FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency and doing so with zero findings shows that GroundControl was built for the reality of regulated manufacturing: fast operations, audit-ready controls, and government-grade security.”

As defense suppliers continue to handle Controlled Unclassified Information under DFARS 252.204-7012 and NIST SP 800-171, they need cloud systems that meet rigorous security requirements such as FedRAMP Moderate equivalency for platforms that store, process, or transmit CUI. Many quality and FAI tools remain on-premises, making it challenging to ensure rapid changes or improvements in technology. GroundControl's achievement sets it apart as a cloud-native platform purpose-built for aerospace and defense manufacturers that need both speed and compliance. With this, there is less IT overhead for its users as GroundControl takes on the full responsibility. Additionally, it enables rapid adoption with no need to install across computers, no configuring licenses, and no deployments on old servers — just a simple login from a browser.

About GroundControl

GroundControl builds modern manufacturing software for regulated industries. The company helps aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing teams accelerate inspection, streamline compliance, and replace fragmented legacy tools with software designed for how quality teams actually work.

GroundControl is ITAR registered, NIST SP 800-171 compliant, and hosted in AWS GovCloud (US) with U.S.-only data residency. Achieving FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency across the platform further strengthens that posture for customers handling CUI in production quality workflows.
